There are two kinds of lizard in Thailand. First, the gecko or Tuk-Kae, a lizard with six or nine inches long, and named from the sound it makes. Second, the house lizard or chingchok, it appears at night time and makes shrill sound.
Both kinds of lizard can be found everywhere in Thailand. Thai people can eat both gecko and house lizard. For house lizard, If it falls in front of somebody before he goes out, it means that he is going to have serious problems. This belief is based on that house lizards should never fall from ceiling or walls.
